Kids say the darnest things...

This year I am working with fourth and fifth graders. Most of my kids are a grade or two below the grade they are actually in.... I just had to capture some cute things they said this week.
Boy student to girl student: Did you know Mrs. Ilaoa is having a baby?
Girl Student to me: You don't look like it. You must be having a boy since you are carrying the baby so low.

While working on a current event with a student. The article was on the Carolina Panthers. I was reading the sentence to my student: The player was on the ________team. I could not read what the team was that she wrote down.
She proudly smiled and said: Oh! I got it from his helmet in the picture: Riddell

Yesterday I was doing a grammar review. I asked who could tell me what a noun was.
I had a student eagerly raising her hand so I picked on her.
Student: A,E, I,O, U

Remembering 9-11

I'm greatful for the many who gave their time and their lives for us on 9-11.

I'm greatful for the prayers that were answered as my fiance of 9 days was too sick to be at the Pentagon that day to do some computer work in the area that was hit.

I'm greatful that my dad who worked in the Pentagon was safe and returned home to us.

I'm so greatful for my Marine and for all of our members of the military who work so hard for us and our families.

Gold Star

I kept pushing the snooze button, knowing I was going to get up for the gym. I got there by 6:00 instead of my 5:30 (which has been slipping to 5:45)....

I was on the elyptical and happy I was doing decent, but not pushing it and this lady comes walking over to me. I've seen her at the gym, but I don't remember ever talking to her. She came right to my elyptical and smiled saying, "You look great, I can tell you are losing weight." My first thought was I hope she was thinking of the same person, then I didn't care. I didn't care if she was just trying to be nice, high, or asleep. I thanked her and made sure I did not tell her I was 9 weeks pregnant. I didn't want to "look" for compliments :)

She made up for my kid yesterday at school when I was explaining to the kids that I am not showing yet but I will and he gave me this face like "Are you sure!?!" When I asked what the look was for he said he wasn't gonna say. I told him he was smart.

So lets make someone else's day and let someone know we've notice they've been working out. Let me know if you got a gold star from someone :)

They say.....

When you are Samoan or pregnant with one, do as the Samoans do.....

And that's just what I do these days. Anyone who knows us enough, knows this is one reason we do not get somewhere on time.......

Thank you all for sharing your happiness with us. Still hardly any sickness, which makes my happiness even greater :)
