My sister believes that boys have heart beats 140-150 and girls are more 150-160. She said she knows it doesn't always work out that way...but it did for her two boys and two girls. I was just wondering if it worked for any of you. As for Brittany, you don't have to make one up. Making up a husband is already comendable for you :)
Well I did get to hear my baby's heart beat (very exciting!) and it was between 155 and 160...which according to my sister's theory...its a girl...we'll have to wait the three weeks to confirm it, but I just wanted to see how it worked for everyone else. Aaron may need a little support from Aric if he doesn't get his boy. He's already got NFL plays picked out for this baby.

I've been tagged....
Going back to my last blog...this is not me procrastinating...this is me taking a break :) My cousin Rebecca tagged me and I always hated staying frozen so here it goes:
Tag...you're it!
So, apprently I have been tagged and this one is about my husband.
So, here it is:
What's your husband's name? Aaron Toli Ilaoa
How long have you guys been married? 6 years
How long did you date? We started dating on Wed Aug 29th and we were engaged Sunday Sept 2nd
How old is he? 28 (as of two weeks)
Who eats more sweets? I like them more, but he definitely eats them more in bulk--like those midnight, "Babe, can you make me some cookies" that end up turning into a dozen
Who said I love you first? Aaron did
Who is taller? Aaron by 6 inches
Who is the better singer? Definitely him--Polynesian talent
Who is smarter? Aaron --yes I'm the one with the degree. But he wins at everything. Now I'm learning its really more that he's so smart that I don't know when he's cheating anymore.
Who does the laundry? Me
Who pays the bills? Me
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Its funny. I have a side of the bed, but when he's gone, I take his spot and then it becomes mine till he leaves again..
Who mows the lawn? Me (these days my neighbor)
Who cooks dinner? Attempts? Me. Aaron is the better one for sure.
Who drives? We don't like each other's driving, but his sense of direction is better so normally him.
Who is the first to say they are wrong? We don't get into too many fights, but I would say I say I'm wrong first (he may not agree with that :)
Who kissed who first? We still till this day think the other one started first. Same with holding hands.
Who asked out who first? That didn't really happen...but once we knew we liked eachother and were dating, he asked me to a football game. Although he did ask me another time on a date a month before we were dating.
Who wears the pants? Anyone who knows Aaron knows that he gets what he wants....still trying to figure out sometimes if he just gets lucky or if I just love him too much that I give in all the time.
Well I guess I will now tag Britt, Erin, and Shauna, Laura, and Desiray

Good Teacher = Good Student
I have a class I am taking now that has got me thinking....I've always been a good student and I would be upset if I didn't get an A, as long as I worked for it. I wasn't like my brother taking AP calculus in 10th grade or Aaron who hears something once and remembers it forever (unless I told him something...) I've always had to study, but I felt I got the grades I worked for...for the most part.
My roommates Britt and Erin can tell you I was often the dork on Fridays and Saturdays who was staying home to do my homework. Sometimes, I had to do it so that I could go out with them later. I remember they would be watching TV and I would sit next to the door that went into the living room so that I could hear noise so I dind't fall asleep, but not in the room so I would get too distracted.
Well up to this point in my life, I have had teachers who expected a lot so I gave a lot. Now I have a teacher who gives full points for everything and I' m not thinking that she is reading any of the work I am turning in. I tested it and spent half the amount of time I would've on a paper and still got the perfect score. As a teacher, this is hard for me, because I get upset with my kids when they do not give their all. At the same time, I am giving my all when I am grading them.
So what it comes down to is that I am not complaining about my teacher. I'm just going to appreciate that she is too busy to take time to grade my work and I am going to do a decent job, but I am going to do my minimal needs for the class because I am too busy to over exert myself.
We are both too busy and we benefit...life is great!

My Palm Springs Trip with Aaron!!
I was so excited getting off that plane and being able to see Aaron right away! It was much better than coming home from deployments when you have to wonder when the bus will pull up (although I still always love when they do....) He was smiling so big and it didn't take long for him to rub my belly. As for this trip, he is convinced we are having a boy. Our first trip was to this wonderful restaurant: Haleiwa Joe's.
I went once at a work party in Hawaii and we were excited to see one there. They had a local band singing Hawaiian music. It was so romantic...and the food was so good!
Check out our beautiful view! I was excited to get us a place at the Doral "Princess" Resort. Since we were dating, Aaron called me his Princess....
Here we are bright and early getting ready to go to Yuma,AZ to visit our friends and watch the OU/Texas game. OU is Aaron's favorite team and their worst rivals are Texas, Josh's team.
It was a sad game. I was worried towards the end when the OU Sooners still had a chance, Aaron rubbed my stomache and told Josh he would name is son Sooner if they won. Well, we can now think of other names :)
Aaron throwing the upside down Texas horns and Josh proudly displaying they won.
Us hanging out at the Sand Dunes there in Yuma.
Our awesome friends, Josh and Erika from Hawaii. (the wind was blowing my hair all over).

The sign said no pregnant women allowed. Aaron said he'd enjoy it for me. (Although I think dipping my feet would've been fine).
We are always up for getting our feet done...

Here I am at 14 weeks starting my 2nd trimester. I know there weren't many baby shots, but Aaron isn't much of a picture person and I'm lucky I got what I did. There will be more next month when I see him and we make our trip back.
This trip was a great reminder of the importance of the little things in life: Spending time with eachother. Aaron is my best friend and we couldn't have asked for a better and more needed get away.

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Aaron normally gets to go on the trips while I stay behind beause I can't get off work. This time, I get to get on the plane an go see him. I told Aaron the baby needs to hear his daddy's voice, so he told me to buy a ticket. I leave bright and early in the morning and I'll be back late Monday night.
I decided to fly and not drive...not just for the time sake...but we do not need anymore cars impounded.

"There's no place like home!" "There's no place like home!"
I wish I could just click my heals and be home, but it was still worth the five hour drive. I loved spending time with everyone. I was so spoiled and it felt good to just relax! It was fun sharing my excitement with the family.

Nothing like kicking back to some hot chocolate and falling a sleep soon after.

We were talking how possible it is for many of us to be pregnant at the same time. So far Hannah and I are the first. She's 9 weeks ahead of me.

The only way I could get some people to take a picture was because I said Grandma Nielsen checks our blogs and wants to see her grandkids. Thanks guys!

Mom's Lending Library....
Mom is crazy organized and goes to yard sales and still has some clothes that used to be ours. When we need baby things, we all rotate through mom's library. I ended up bringing home a pack-n-play from Hannah, a bassinet, snugglie, some baby gadgets, and some clothes (for me!) from mom. Its still so exciting! I think bringing these things home is helping the reality set in....

The boxes are labled boy or girl and by sizes. That way we know exactly where to look :)

Brooke and Lucy breaking it in with some girl coodies!

UFO Sighting at the ILAOA's House!!
Things have been pretty busy between school, work, and Relief Society.....and the lawn was the first thing I let go. I've been looking for someone to pay to do it and someone knocked on my door.....I was pretty excited and he offered a good price. A few things that made me nervous before I saw the results.....
A) After 20 min of mowing the front, I heard a bad noise and then a knock on the door. The guy said he would have to run to Wal-Mart real quick because his belt to his riding lawn mower fell out and he ran over it.
B) Once he got back, he had to fix the lawnmower every 15-20 min.
C) I saw sparks while he was riding in the back yard (he said he forgot to put in a pin, so his grate kept rubbing against the grass)
D) It was getting dark, but he said he could see.
E) He asked for a broom, because his blower wasn't working, go figure...
He got there at 6:00 andleft at 8:00 and I realized it takes me 2 hours to mow the yard by myself with a push mower, I was glad I was not being charged by the hour. I do have to say that he endured to the end.
I'm wondering if it is his trick to start late so it is too dark to see the finished project (It was so dark, I didn't get the laugh until I left for work in the morning). Smart guy....
Those swerves in the back yard---I think they were each time he had to come back out of the yard to fix his lawnmower.
Aaron taught me to that you need to go back over the lines so that you do not miss any grass....I don't know who taught him.
